Zeigler For Sheriff Carbon County

From Daniel Zeigler’s December letter:

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season!

My name is Dan Zeigler and I am currently the Carbon County Sheriff fulfilling the unexpired term of retired Sheriff Anthony Harvilla.  I recently announced my intent to seek the Republican nomination to a full four-year term of office in the May 2023 Primary Election.

It has been my pleasure to serve the residents of Carbon County for the last 11 months and I hope to build on the positive momentum and many accomplishments we have achieved. I will continue to focus on improving safety, efficiency and effectiveness in the Sheriff’s Office and will do everything possible to increase safety in our communities to create a better future for our children.

I currently reside in Franklin Township and formerly lived in Lansford and Lake Harmony.  I am a 1993 graduate of Panther Valley High School and attained a bachelor’s degree in the Administration of Justice from Penn State University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Devry University.

I began my employment with the county in 2020 when retired Sheriff Harvilla appointed me to the Captain’s position, and was promoted a few months later to Chief Deputy. Prior to that, I worked for the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office for six years and was the Deputy Commissioner of Social Services in Yates County, NY as well as the Director of Residential and Community-Based services for Glove House, Inc. located in Elmira, NY.

I feel I am uniquely qualified for this position, due to the experience I have gained as the Sheriff as well as the 24 years of experience I have in the Criminal Justice Field which, I believe, has prepared me to continue to serve the residents of Carbon County with integrity and honor.

My father Daniel F. Zeigler was a former longtime member of the Carbon County Bar Association and served the county in multiple positions over the years before his passing, a tradition I hope to continue.

I look forward to the opportunity to speak to you in person to answer any questions you may have regarding the direction of the Sheriff’s Office, my accomplishments while in the position and how I may garner your support.

Warmest Regards
